We arrived before the check-in time so our receptionist Aziz, quickly
pre-registered us, the concierge took our bag and then we were off to
indulge in some retail therapy in Jermyn Street. Upon our return, we
went straight to our room…on the 15th Floor, so I could not wait to see
the view. The 15th floor is only offering Suites so anybody booking one will undoubtly feel extra special !
The view from The Berkeley Suite was as I predicted, stunning ! London Eye, Big Ben…
The Berkerley Suite 1504 is well decorated with tones of purple,
fushia and beige. The room is a bit quirky as located under the roof but
is large with a seating room area featuring two sofas, a large plasma
screen TV, an ipod station and a mini-bar. I thought the complimentary
use of the Nespresso machine (6 cups) was a sweet gesture from the hotel.
The bed was incredibly comfortable with soft
duvets and enough pillows to build a little castle! The room was quiet,
no noise coming from the corridor either, just peace and
quiet…wonderful for the light sleepers like me! Staying in The Berkeley
Suite is a bit like staying home, so comfortable and practical (with all
the gadgets and plugs)…few minutes in and I was dreading checkout time
in the morning!
I should mention that the first thing I did…before even checking out
the view was to inspect the bathroom…bright, spacious with a bath and a
walking shower. I loved the cozy bathrobe, after all, it’s those little
items of luxury that make an overnight stay extra special. I was
delighted to find Taylor of Old Bond Street products in the bathroom. This family run business has been operating since 1854 ! So British…
I ordered our breakfast via Room Service…any
excuse to stay a little bit longer in bed ! The waiter arrived on time
and the large coffee table in the seating area was perfect to set up our
breakfast.
Our night at The Cavendish Hotel was just perfect, beautiful Suite, comfortable bed, quiet and what an impressive view !
On a personal note, thank you to all the staff who made our stay truly memorable…
